Picked up for $1 at a thrift store on a long road trip this book was a perfect quick read, thriller. The book moves between the present time and the past. A horrendous murder was committed in the past that is still having impacts on present day for many lives. A detective investigating the current murders that are copycats of past atrocities comes to the town where they all originated. Who was the original murderer? Are they still out there or have they moved in to a different dimension? The twists and turns of the book will keep you on your toes and you may fall a asleep wondering if you’ll wake up in a lucid dream. I would pair this book with an older style of mine, the Lined Mug, because this book is all about reading between the lines if you want to figure out what’s happening before the twists are revealed. Top the mug off with a tasty oat milk latte to complete the pairing.
