I LOVE going into small town bookstores on road trips! My favorite of a recent 3 week trip was in Golden, British Colombia. It’s called Four Points Books and has an amazing cafe on the second floor. While perusing the shelves I found The Book fo Doors. The cover caught my attention and when I realized it was a book about a book I could not pass it up. The book centers around Cassie, a young woman that works in a small book store in New York City. She is gifted a magical book by a favorite customer and her entire world changes within 24 hours of receiving the book. There is magic, there is evil and there is a very minor love story. The best friend adds some great levity but I will warn there is some darkness in this book as well that is not for the faint of heart. Overall I quite enjoyed this book and it was a great end of road trip read. I love recommending books (obviously) and I think that my friend Cat from Honeysuckle Handmade Studio will like this one so I’d pair the book with one of the mugs from our Crag Flower Collab filled with our favorite kind of coffee, single origin Ethiopian made with a pour-over.
