The prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree. This book was technically written after The Priory but I would recommend reading it first. I read them in the order they were written which is totally fine but I found that some of the intrigue that is A Day of Fallen Night when you have already read the storyline from 500 years earlier. The Day of Fallen night is another amazing journey of different cultures fighting the same evil with the need to find a way to support each other so everyone will survive. There is cultural intrigue, horrible protagonists, amazing dragons and a long history of strong women in leadership. Another highly recommended (and long) fantasy fiction novel. Oh what to pair this amazing book with? I’m thinking a bright poppy mug topped off with some light and delicious kombucha from Hans Brewing.
