I snagged this book at one of my favorite local book stores, The Legendarium. Set in a dystopian world this book is an incredibly poignant commentary on our current world. The book is set sometime near our current time but the major differences in the world is that witchcraft is real and hence women are heavily monitored. It’s an over the top analogy of what we, as women, still have in 2023. I loved the book but another good friend couldn’t get past some of the lack of detail the author gives us. I think I am learning that I can really enjoy a novel that leaves you wondering. This book is a lot to handle at times so fill up a bright wildflower tumbler with some chilled riesling to embrace the summer reading.
