This book happened to be left at my house by a guest and I found it shortly after a book loving friend recommended it to me so I picked it up and had a hard time putting it down. A beautifully story that weaves between the past and present day. This book opened up a past about horse racing that I was completely unfamiliar with and a present day level of research that was fascinating. The ending comes with a pretty large smack to the face full of present day true life so I’d recommend taking this one on with a drink that comforts you, for me that’s going to be some Kava Tea served in a pet mug.
