“Books contain everything worth knowing except what ultimately matters.” With a quote like that how could you not want to pick this book up, it’s in the first chapter. This is the first of Louise Erdrich that I have read and I cannot wait to read more of her books. It’s also the first book I read that really brings back the reality of Covid, it was wild to read. The book is set in a haunted bookstore and comes with so many book recommendations. I greatly enjoy Erdrich’s voice and look forward to reading another of her books. She has straight forward writing style so I enjoyed pairing this book with a light pale ale in a Shadow Bloom Mug because it feels right with the ghost thread.
