Have you ever considered what the world would be like if no one could remember you? The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue tells the story of a woman who makes a deal with a god and in turn he ensures that no one will remember her as soon as she is out of their sight. This book had me thinking a lot about the idea of impermanence and what it would be like to not leave a mark on this world. I’m not much of a port drinker but there is something richly old world about this book that seems like it would pair well with a classy drink like port. And of course the Subtle Mountain Tumbler captures that vision of impermanence with the faint outline of the mountains under the glaze.
