Klara is an AF (artificial friend) who narrates her experience of finding a family and taking care of Josie, the girl who picked her. This is a beautiful story that is written from a narrowed perspective of the world. Klara is a robot so she can only have so much understanding of what is happening around her but what she does perceive is poignant in its simplicity. This is a science fiction book that tackles what our ideas of love are and what we do for those we love. I paired this book with a Moody Mountain Mug because the clouds parting for the sun are pivotal moments in the book. Top the mug off with a seltzer and lime to keep the deeper meanings light.
