TJ Klune has done it again. He has written a beautiful sequel to House in the Cerulean Sea that made me laugh and cry on repeat. I can feel the prickling in my eyes now as I write about this amazing book. It was like walking into a safe and loving embrace. The book follows the story of Arthur Parnassus as he navigates the prejudiced world as a Phoenix and the master of an orphanage for kids with powers. You learn about Arthur’s traumas and how he trying to create a safe world for magical beings. The book is a love story to the real world’s queer community and will make you burst with indignation at the injustices served to magical beings. The hope being you take that anger into the real world and fight for those who need the help. I would pair this book with a Chauncey tumbler (one of my favorite characters) and a lovely mint tea.
