I picked this book up at a friend’s house and had to bring it home with me, then ship it back to her after I had a chance to finish. Cloud Cuckoo Land will take you from Constantinople (yes, in the 1400s) to the future with some time spent in the present day. As an avid reader it is hard to pass up a book that is linked together with another book but that’s just what Anthony Doerr does here. He uses an ancient text to tie together stories spanning over 1000 years. Try pairing this one with a delicious IPA, one of my favorites is Crank Yanker from Eddyline Brewery, in the Textured Beer Tumbler. Thoughts on bringing back this larger beer tumbler style for the summer months?
