I took this book on a recent climbing trip to Ten Sleep and read it in 5 days. The first chapter left my head spinning but as I dug in (and continually referenced the family tree) I couldn’t book the book down. Set in North Dakota this is the story of three generations of a Ojibwe family. The characters are beautifully written and the underlying politics of Indigenous lives in America is hard to dismiss. Camping in the truck I paired this book with a Fireweed Mug and nightly cup of Sleepy Time Tea.
